Philosophy Battle
Hey, let's have some fun since the forums are kind of quiet! This is a game of philosophy. One person can state a philosophical quote, and state what it means, and someone else can try to debate against it or have a better quote that has deeper meaning. The winner can continue or choose a new quote after.
I'm not going to start it, because I might ruin the fun. Give it your best shot!

William A Foster:
"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives." It means that quality just does not come flying through a window. You have to sacrifice time, and effort to get a quality result. You need to use your mind to think about what you are doing, especially in magic, and why you are doing it. This quote represents a lot of things in live. |

I agree.
“Skill is fine, and genius is splendid, but the right contacts are more valuable than either.” - Arthur Conan Doyle I interpreted this in a life-skill style.. I am just adding on to yours, but I don't think this can beat it. No matter how good you are at something, and you sacrifice time and effort, if you want to get far with it, you need to know people. That goes for art, music, magic, and all the other things out there.

I fully agree, it makes me think of Nathan Thomas. he is a very young hypnotist who is very talented. But there are a lot of talented people. But what he did, was, he had the guts to contact the best hypnotists for advice and stuff. And now he belongs to one of the best
Looking for another quote right now |

Just to add another Doyle quote (and restate my signature): "What you do in this world is a matter of no consequence. The question is, what can you make people believe that you have done." He is also one of my two favorite authors, along with Twain.

I can't remember where I read this or who said it but it stuck in my mind: "Life is a bad teacher because it gives you the test before the lesson". Pretty self explanatory.
