SOPA is on hold until February. Also, if you read closely enough at the rules of SOPA, it pretty much says that they can shut down any website if it has suspicions of hosting pirated material. Even then, if someone posts a video of something pirated on one of the websites, there's reason to take it down, even if it's YouTube. Also, even if they were wrong, the websites can STILL be shut down because the site "made it too confusing" to determine whether or not it was pirated material. It's a good thing Anon is fighting for us, but I'm a bit worried about the outcome.

.......... and all without a court hearing! That's the most crazy part. Bypass the justice system, no chance for a fair hearing, you're just shut down and your IP blocked. Reminds me of the laws they passed to help them catch all those terrorists I keep seeing all over the place (that was sarcasm), which include "rendition" where many innocent people have been abducted (by our government), taken to other countries, and tortured. No trial, no lawyer, nothing. Of course, we won't put up with it, oh, except that we already did. But how far will we let them go? This is a great example of how laws are slowly but surely changing in the favour of profit and working against our freedoms, and like the frog in the boiling water we don't seem to notice what's happening around us until it's too late.
